1st Sawley (All Saints) Dovedale Beaver Colony and Phoenix Cub Pack

 

 

Helping young people to develop as active members of the community - Learning by Doing

The Cub Scouts and Beaver Scouts of 1st Sawley (All Saints) hold their weekly meetings at Dovedale School. Although the two sections are part of the 1st Sawley (All Saints) Scout Group, only the Beavers and Cubs meet in the school.

Over at our Scout Headquarters in Beresford Road, Sawley, the Group also run an active Scout Troop and have recently set up a new Explorer Scout Unit as well as running another Cub Pack and Beaver Colony.

Dovedale Beaver Colony

Open to boys aged from 6 to 8 years old, Beavers are the youngest section in the Scout Association, their programme is based on a motto of "Fun and Friends", and working towards their own badge scheme.

Phoenix Cub Scout Pack

Open to boys aged from 8 to 10½ years old, Cub Scouts follow a set programme, based on a progressive badge scheme and a wide range of Activity badges. Cubs allow the boys to get a taster of Scout activities and also allows them to develop an interest in other sports or interests. The Phoenix Cub Scouts get involved in a wide range of fun activities such as trips and outdoor activities including camps.
